Where exactly is the new science center?

Glad you asked! The public entrance to Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion is located at 815 W. Hamilton St. in downtown Allentown. Groups arriving by bus and students enrolled in Science Center camps and programs should enter through the Groups & Reserved Programs entrance on W. Court St. between 8th & 9th St.

Who is the new science center geared towards?

We have something for everyone! The new Science Center is designed to appeal to all ages and exhibits will feature both English and Spanish languages.

What are the operating hours and how much does it cost?

The Science Center will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 7 days a week. Closures for holidays and other special events to be announced. General admission will start at $20 for ages 3 and up. Ages 2 and under are free. Click here to become a member and save!

Does my membership for Da Vinci Science Center (West Allentown) include the new location?

If your membership is valid through the grand opening date (May 22, 2024), the new Science Center is included! If your membership expires before the new Science Center opens, you’ll need to renew before visiting. Click here for more membership information.

Can the Science Center host private events or birthday parties?

The Science Center is a wonderful place to host a wedding, birthday party, corporate event, or other special occasions. Learn more about our private event offerings.

Is parking included in my admission ticket?

Your admission to the Science Center, whether it’s general admission, membership, school/group trip or special event, does NOT include parking. Fortunately, there are several parking garages nearby that start at $1/hr. (Please note that pricing is subject to change based on special events at surrounding venues).

Is there parking nearby?

YES! There are several public parking garages within 2-3 blocks of the science center, including the following:
• The Spiral Deck (645 spaces) is located directly behind the Science Center at 836 Linden St. The walk from there to our main entrance is one block.
• The Maple Street Parking Deck (1,100 spaces) is located at 920 West Maple St. and offers a 2-to-3-block walk to our main entrance.

Will I be able to access both the current location and the new location at the same time?

No. Da Vinci Science Center located on the campus of Cedar Crest College will be open through April 1, 2024. The new facility in downtown Allentown is scheduled to open May 22, 2024. The two locations will not be open at the same time. Memberships that are still active in May will transfer over to the new facility.
Please note: any memberships still active after April 1, 2024 will be extended for the amount of time that passes between the current location closing and the new facility opening.





What is happening with the old location on the campus of Cedar Crest College?

Da Vinci Science Center located on the campus of Cedar Crest College is closed.

The facility will continue to serve the community as a place of learning and inspiration, providing children from low-income households access to a premier educational experience through the CAI Learning Academy, a private elementary school founded and funded by CAI.

Are dining and shopping available?

Yes! The Science Center will have a museum store and café for guests to enjoy.

Is there public transportation to the new science center?

Public transportation is easily accessible at the Allentown Transportation Center located at 112 N. 6^th St., two blocks northeast of the new science center. Public transportation is provided by Lanta to and from sites throughout the Lehigh Valley. View public transportation information here.

Will the new Science Center be accessible?

The Science Center’s exhibits, classrooms, and building comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring wheelchair accessibility. We strive for a multi-sensory presentation of our programs, catering to diverse learning preferences and capabilities.

What educational programs will you offer?

We will continue to offer award-winning STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs and events, including our popular summer camps, School’s Out Science Camps, Scout Programs, and more. More information on when these programs will be available in the new building will be announced soon.
