Career Connection Days
Medical careers are everywhere in the Lehigh Valley!
January 24 & 25, 2024; 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Today’s medical field isn’t just about being a doctor or a nurse. There are hundreds of healthcare career paths right here in the Lehigh Valley.
During our Healthcare Career Connection Days, students can learn about being a medical equipment designer, a drug developer, a medical researcher, a chemist, a physical therapist, a trainer, a surgeon, and much more.
There will be hands-on activities and an assortment of companies, schools, and professionals working in the field.
Students will:
- Explore a variety of STEAM-related careers and businesses.
- Meet inspiring STEAM professionals.
- Discover pathways to developing STEAM skills and experiences outside of school.
- Souvenir booklets with interactive sections designed specifically around Career Education & Work Standards
- Create evidence of standards fulfillment for the student files.
- Participate in a hands-on workshop.
Workshops Include:
Medical Lab: Outbreak Alert
How do viruses get inside our bodies? Do all cells look the same? In this program, students build and test their own virus models and learn how the engineering design process is an important part of medicine and biology.
*Note: Outbreak Alert is based on Engineering is Everywhere’s “Outbreak Alert!: Engineering a Pandemic Response” from the Museum of Science.
Medical Lab: Cardiopulmonary System
